The SOS Hollywood blog gets the scoop directly from the directors mouth. According to Louis Leterrier there was a sequence filmed where Bruce Banner travels to the North Pole and considers suicide. Deemed too harsh for young audiecnces, the sequence was cut.

It was during this scene that the Hulk meets Captain America.

All is not lost however. According to Leterrier via The SOS Hollywood blog...

"At some point this week, we will make it available on the internet, but I cannot tell you where or when, and the material will definitely be on the DVD."
